We are excited to offer a variety of enrichment classes that run from 3:00-4:00pm. These classes, which vary annually and are available in three 10-week sessions, enhance the overall educational experience at St. James.
Enrichment classes offer a unique opportunity for your child to learn and explore in a familiar environment, fostering enthusiasm for the learning process.
The courses listed below are just a few of the classes we have offered in recent times.
- Little Chefs – The Little Chefs cooking enrichment class offers a fun, hands-on approach to cooking. In a 1-hour session, students will follow simple recipes, use precise measurements, and create delicious sweet and savory foods. Each week, they will make different recipes to take home and share with their families.
- STEM – During STEM enrichment classes, students will embark on an exciting journey of discovery and exploration through hands-on, interactive lessons. These dynamic sessions are designed to spark their natural curiosity and instill essential skills like focus, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions. As students navigate each new experiment, they will learn to approach challenges as budding problem-solvers, tapping into their creativity and critical thinking abilities.
- Art – The Art Enrichment class is designed to cultivate your child’s creativity and ignite their imagination. Students will dive into the realms of art and literature, studying renowned artists and their acclaimed works. Throughout the class, each student will have the chance to experiment with a variety of mediums, from pencils and paints to oil pastels and beyond.
- Animals & their Habitats – This exciting enrichment class will focus on “Animals and Their Habitats,” where students will explore and learn about various animals and the unique environments they call home. The students will create models of 10 different habitats. They will delve into questions such as: Who lives in the Arctic? Who thrives in the Savanna? Each habitat will be crafted to provide an understanding of the diverse ecosystems around the world. We invite you to join us on this educational journey and discover the fascinating answers to these questions!
